Untitled

Urban Outfitter's, today's comfort is dedicated to you.

I sit here in the student union building, with my iced late, computer, and less than par breakfast burrito (really food services, it's gross!) in a state of semi-contemplation, unable to edit my essay because my head is too warm and toasty, and my shirt fits all too well.

It is safe to say that those who know me (most of those that is) are aware of the fact that most of my clothing is from urban outfitter's (man, I've already mentioned them twice, they should pay me for this name dropping) so the fact that I am wearing two new articles of clothing from urban outfitter's right now is not out of the ordinary. What is out of the ordinary, however, is the fact that I ordered them online. I do not usually order clothing online, it freaks me out. What if it doesn't fit right? What if I think I'm ordering something lime green, and instead I get something in the horrendous color of chartreuse??? As you can see, there are many disasturous possible downfalls of online shopping. In my life time, I have made one major online clothing purchase, and that was my prom dress, but it entailed some serious alterations (and it was on sale).

ANYWAYS, back to the topic at hand....I a few days ago, I took the plunge and ordered not one, but two articles of clothing off urbanoutfitters.com. While I was pursuing (and salivating)over the website, I found the clearance section (I'm a sucker for a good clearance section) and there, displayed on the dirtiest computer screen in Washington, was and adorable little graphic t for only $4, I added it to my basket, and then the floodgates were open, I greedily clicked and viewed the next webscreen, only to find the perfect black beanie for only $5! I bought them both.

Let me tell you, my friends, I am so pleased with my purchases. I'm sitting here feeling warm, in a new website conceived outfit, and ready to make some more.

P.S I have created a game for you, my faithful reader(s), DON'T CHEAT.

So bad it's good....

Let's talk taste.

I don't want to sound pompous, but my taste is usually pretty good. I know good music when I hear it, I can analyze and critique the crap out of a movie, and I have always had a decent sense of style.

However, recently a new "genre" (if you could call it that) has caught my attention, this "genre" being under-reaching, poorly written, poorly executed crap.
Disney Channel (yes, Disney Channel) recently premiered a made for TV movie called StarStruck, now it's no secret that Disney Channel movies have been going down hill for well over five years. High School Musical was an unexpected exception, and nothing has been good since then, and the movie StarStruck is no exception. I love it. I love the cookie cutter pop stars, poor comedic timing, and mostly, the crappy-boy band-style throwback. I cannot stop listening to the soundtrack, it's horrible, and for some reason I find it inciting and delicious.

Let me give you a little taste of the poetry that is the lyrical aspect of this scrumptious noise:
This is where I should be
There aint no other place yeah
Will my soul release please
There aint no other way
I can feel it singin movin shakin
Gotta go where the music takes me
Let it set me free
You got to believe

Ahhh, so beautiful.

Okay, moving on to another exemplary example of bad taste:

MY LIFE AS LIZ
OMG. COULD I LOVE SOMETHING MORE THAN I LOVE THIS SHOW?!?! The answer is of course, no.
Here's why this 30 minute segment of awesome get's my heart racing:
1. It's obviously scripted. Like really, I usually try and lie to myself in situations like these, just to make the show more enjoyable...but in the case I can't, there is no way in hell it is not scripted (I mean they do slow motion glamor shots for crying out loud!) and that just makes me love it more.
2. Liz, the protagonist that they follow. She is fantastic, she has awesome style, her hair is excellent (don't be surprised if I dye my hair that color hah!) And her reactions and one liners are HILARIOUS. I love you Liz, I want to be you.
3. Bryson, this is Bryson:

His words are much too wise to come out of the toolish body he poorly maintains (and dresses for that matter), and by wise, I of course mean cheesy. Bryson, I love you, but not as much as my # four reason for loving this show.
4. Liz's hair. Yes, it deserves it's own bullet point. I not only love her hair for the outstandingly fantastic color that it is, but the fact that it embodies and mirrors her personality flawlessly. AHHHH, LOVE IT.

I have now shared with you the guiltiest of my guilty pleasures.
But before you go judging me, let me assure that my style has not plummeted, dipped, or gone down hill in anyway.

In fact today I was pursuing the website of my FAVORITE clothing store Urban Outfitters (as I do at least once a week) and I found a beanie and graphic T for only $8 cumulatively, so I bought them.

And I'm getting a hair cut tomorrow, I haven't had any layers in my hair since october and it's time for some bangs!

But for now, I must sleep!

Tata,

~ Your friend with FABULOUS taste

P.S Go youtube StarStruck and watch the music video for the song StarStruck <3<3<3

A poem for you....

Nick@Night blaring
Sleep not caring
Weariness- why don't you want me to watch The Nanny?
Some celebrity look alike are uncanny
That was a random rhyme
But to sit and think of something relevant is waste of time.

I want to go to Sasquatch this year. I need more $$$$.
Hey parent,
Remember when you told me I could go to Sasquatch, Junior year, and then killed my hopes and dreams by changing your mind?
How about the time you saved a buttload of money/abandonded me at college and went on a cruise the Caribbean with the whole family minus me??
How will you EVVVVER make up for that?
...OH! I JUST GOT AN IDEA!

Attention.

I have something to say:

I am not a sports fan. Woah Shocker.
However I did watch the Super Bowl. Why did I do this? For the commercials, of course.

Here are two of my favorites (I'll admit, I didn't see them all.)

Tis' the Season!

Ahh, Complacent.

I'm sitting here in the student union, with an awkward amount of time kill before my next class, nibbling on a chocolate chip scone. It's a bit stale (which is not unexpected because I bought from the school coffee stand) but all in all, it's enjoyable.

I accidently slept in this morning, and instead of rushing to my first class late and in a fit of hysteria, I decided to take my time, get ready, eat a good breakfast and do some homework.

Three hours later and no homework has been completed. In all fairness, I'm moving at glacier speeds.

In the time-span of three hours I:
- Ate breakfast
- Brushed my teeth
- Watched some 90210
- Put my contacts on
- Looked up the 2010 Oscar Nominations ( you better believe I have an opinion on that)
- Did my hair & make up

and lastly, I unsuccessfully packed up my bag for my two o'clock class, and the homework I was planning on completing in the Student Union.
I say 'unsuccessfully' because I forgot several key things:
- My geography book (I have a quiz I need to study for)
- And the article I need to critique for english

I feel like this blog has an awkward structure, so I'm not going to even try to create a transition to my next topic...

THE OSCAR NOMINATIONS
WOOOOOAH BABY.
I approve, for the most part.
Here's who and what I want to win:

Best Picture

Up in The Air

Best Actor in a Leading Role
GEORGE CLOONEY FOR UP IN THE AIR!!
BUT if Colin Firth or Jeff Bridges won, I would be down...I haven't seen either of the movies their nominated for, but I intend to.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role
Christoph Waltz for Inglorious Bastards--He was fantastic!

But thumbs up to Stanley Tucci

Best Actress in a Leading Role
Carey Mulligan for An Education
Go see it, now.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role
Anna Kendrick for Up in the Air

I have no words!

Animated Feature Film
Coraline

Best Adapted Screenplay
Up in the Air, with An Education close behind

Best Original Screen Play
Up

Those were my personal choices.
I'll chime in again later and tell you of my predictions!

PEACEOUT.

Number 41

Hello World.

This is my 41st blog post, I tell you this because if I was an observant person I would have realized that my last post was the the 40th and done something special for it, however that is not the case. My last post was suppose to be extra special, and the fact that I cannot remember what I blogged about just reinforces the fact that it was not special.

So to make up for my lapse in judgment, today's blog will be extra special. I will blog about George Clooney.

(This will be in the format of a letter to George)

Dear George Clooney,

May I call you George?

Let me start off by saying I was both unimpressed and disappointed by the pictures of you on the web. I would like a few more pictures without the girlfriend and that ridiculous grouping of facial hair that you call a beard.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way. I love you. You're fantastic. You consistently maintain a level of charisma that most can't even aspire for.

Let me share with you my thoughts on some of you're roles.
What's-his-face on ER...ehh, I'm not a huge fan of ER, but you made it as good as it could be. You introduced the words 'suave' and 'good-looking' to the medical profession.

Danny Ocean, this is where my love for you spawned from. Ocean's Eleven is and always will be one of my favorite movies. That's all I can say about this because just reminiscing about this role has left my lost for words.

I must skip to your most recent role because I am so freaking excited about it.
Up in The Air. OH MY GOD. Ryan Bingham has to be one of my favorite characters of all time. In 109 minuets we watched Ryan grow vulnerable, and learn about himself. It was his job was to not get emotionally invested. He was making a living based of his ability to stay an arm's length away from all potential relationships. However throughout the movie certain relationships were forced upon him, which slowly caused a change in his philosophy. His goals and desires were redirected only in time to realize that what he really wanted, was much harder to gain.
The character of Ryan Bingham was likable throughout the movie. You wanted him to succeed, you wanted him to be happy. He was confident, classy, caring, and human.

George Clooney, I love you.

Love,
Me.

P.S At the movie last night, Hayley ate Junior Mints, Leah ate Sour Patch Kids, and I ate Popcorn...
P.P.S I still love you

Eureka!

I have found it.
Yesterday I was absentmindedly watching tv and a milk commercial came on. I recognized the song in the background as some song sped up and played at a higher octave. I couldn't figure out what the song was called, but I did know that I heard it in some romantic comedy. So I sat there, in my room, on my shag rug contemplating...and then out of nowhere, it came to me.

The Song: Be Here Now
The Artist: Ray LaMontagne
